Return a broken sewing machine
**** sent me Pfaff sewing machine that does not work. I called eBay on Oct. 27 and was told I would be given a full refund and instructions for returning the "fraudulent" machine. One week later I have heard nothing from eBay, nor does their phone number I used one week ago work any longer (even when I called a Verizon agent to check the number). I tried contacting the seller, ****, explaining the situation, and they were totally uncooperative, stating that I had only 30 days after shipment to file my complaint. On the contrary, both eBay agents I spoke with assured me that I had one year from delivery to address this issue. The machine sat, unopened, in our climate-controlled house for 8 months while we were living in another state. When I opened the machine for the first time to use on October 26, it made a horrible grinding sound and would not sew at all. I took it to a very reputable sewing machine repair service. They said the machine needed serious repairs and felt that I had been "scammed." Such blatant lack of service from both eBay and **** are so very disappointing. eBay just lost another customer.

Mentor2 years agoHow did you call ebay? There is no legit number online to do so. Who ever you talked to gave you bad advice anyway. Ebay does not get involved in warranty issues, that is between you and the seller and/or the manufacturer. Since over six months, even the payment processor can't help you.
Where did you return the machine to?
Did seller pay for the return?
Regardless, you waited way too long for anyone to help you, except maybe small claims.

You were NOT "scammed".
Ebay has a 30 day Money Back Guarantee from date of delivery. Sorry that you waited too long to use it.
By the way, Ebay Customer Service does not have a phone number.

OP2 years agoAt 11:32 ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27, I SPOKE WITH AN AGENT AT EBAY. PERHAPS YOU WERE UNAWARE THEY HAVE PHONES THERE, BUT I KNOW I SPOKE WITH 2 DIFFERENT AGENTS AT THE SAME NUMBER ONLY MINUTES APART. AND BOTH AGENTS ASSURED ME THAT I HAD ONE YEAR TO QUALIFY FOR RETURN AND REFUND. THAT IS MY EXPERIENCE. PERHAPS YOURS HAS BEEN DIFFERENT.

Mentor2 years agoAny phone number you might have found on the internet, during a Google search is fraudulent. ebay hasn't had a public phone number since Covid, back in 2020. Customer service representatives work from home, which is why they have to call us, or you can use the online chat, at the same link.
