Now I remember why I never shop on E-Bay
I have tried a few times over the last few months to buy something on E-Bay. When I get to the final step it tells me my account has been restricted because of "unpaid user fees".
I have never sold anything on E-Bay. I am not trying to sell anything now. How could I have accrued "unpaid user fees"? It's my understanding that buyers do not pay fees. And I have never sold anything. In fact, I have rarely bought anything on E-Bay because there seems to some kind of issue every time I try.
The E-Bay seller I wanted to buy from yesterday has already lost this sale. I needed the item ASAP and bought elsewhere.
But when it happened I remembered that it happened last time I tried to buy from E-Bay. Maybe even the last two times. I have spent way too much time TRYING to chat with the automated assistant, who keeps giving me the same answer. It list the types of fees and rates, which are all for sellers. It never tells me what the unpaid fees are on my account. It doesn't even explain how I possibly could have racked up fees as a buyer. When I explain that I have unpaid fees but have never sold anything it gives the exact same response and list. No matter how I try to rephrase the question, I get the same answer.
Again - THIS is why I hate shopping on E-Bay
