Hi, I need some advice regarding an order that was returned to me by USPS.
The package was returned because USPS marked it as “Insufficient Address.” The buyer has contacted me and explained that their building and apartment number could not be entered in the original shipping address.
The buyer has now provided the missing address information, and I would like to resend the item to them.
Could you please advise me on the correct way to handle this through eBay?
Should I refund the original order and have the buyer repurchase the item with the complete shipping address, or is there another way to safely resend the item while keeping the original order and tracking information properly documented?
I want to make sure I follow eBay’s policy and that both the buyer and I are protected.

Mentor3 weeks agoJust buy another label and it will add the second tracking# into the eBay record. Make sure to add any additional address information such as the building number, etc...

OP3 weeks agoThank you! That makes sense. But how would I collect the additional shipping cost from the buyer for the second shipment?
Since the package was returned due to insufficient address information, I would like the buyer to cover the cost of reshipping. Is there a way to do this through eBay?

Mentor3 weeks agoThe only way for the buyer to repay shipping is for you to refund the buyer the item price only, and then relist the item for the buyer to repurchase using the complete address. ebay gives the buyer 2 lines for a shipping address.
