Reselling from amazon double the price

Hello Iâ€™ve bought a item thinking it was a good deal, it surprised me when it came in the next day. So I was googling the brand to see how it works and a amazon ad popped up and it was the exact item for half the price. And it showed next day shipping from amazon. So I did a little more digging up and all their items were double the price from Amazon next day delivery is this legal?

To TLDR my answer below, no it is not illegal, but not allowed per eBay policy. In that scenario above, amazon is a retailer

Drop shipping, where you fulfill orders directly from a wholesale supplier, is allowed on eBay. Remember that if you use drop shipping, youâ€™re still responsible for the safe delivery of the item within the time frame stated in your listing and for the buyerâ€™s overall satisfaction with their purchase.

However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not allowed on eBay.

@joshern-3566 < a amazon ad popped up and it was the exact item for half the price > Some people have a reason, or think they have a reason, for being averse to buying from Amazon &/or Jeff Bezos, and actually would rather pay a higher price than patronize That Place. The joke's on them when the item gets drop shipped from Amazon anyway.

Hi @joshern-3566 While some states have price gouging laws, including California where eBay resides, their enforcement is questionable and may depend on the item.
