rescinding an offer to buy an item
I did not realize how expenisve the shipping would be on an item I just bid on. Also, I am concerned that it will be shipping from the Ukraine, which I did not realize when I made the offer, just minutes ago. How can I rescind my offer?

·2 years agoThat is not a valid reason to force a cancellation under eBay rules. You may contact the seller and beg him/her to cancel your bid (or offer--those are two different things) before the auction ends (or s/he accepts the offer), but s/he is under no obligation to do so nor to acknowledge the request, and neither not responding nor responding that it's OK with him/her nor that s/he doesn't know how is among the valid reasons.
Don't be in a hurry to bid. ALWAYS make sure of the description as being what you want (and how much you are willing to pay for it as listed, including the shipping costs and time to the estimated delivery date to your location on the Shipping, Returns, and Payments tab of the listing page) BEFORE you bid/offer/buy. If you had time to examine it after you took action, you had time to do so before you committed to buy it under those terms.
ETA: If you don't receive the item you are covered by the Money Back Guarantee. You have 30 days from the estimated delivery date you were given when you paid to start the process of an Item Not Received claim.
