Requesting feedback from buyers
How do I encourage more of the customers who make purchases from me to leave feedback? I would like to know if they are happy with their purchase and only about half of them have left feedback. Would like to hear suggestions. Thank you.

Presumably you really only want positive feedback and not negative, so you really don't want to hear through feedback when they are not but are restraining themselves from leaving a negative. Feedback is voluntary. No one is required to leave it. Don't expect feedback from every buyer as that's an unrealistic expectation.
Just focus on providing the best customer service, the best items, the best pricing, the best item descriptions you can and allow your buyers to leave feedback if they are so inclined. It's best if you leave feedback for every buyer.
Don't send feedback reminders - that's only annoying to most buyers and you don't want feedback from someone who is annoyed with you or from someone who would otherwise follow grandma's advice, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." There have been many examples posted here over the years from sellers who send reminders and who have received negative feedback stating something similar to, "Here's your feedback. Are you happy now?"
