Requesting a Partial Refund
I purchased an item on eBay for $82.95. After it arrived, I discovered that it was purchased on my behalf from a local retailer and I was charged $52.96 more than I could have bought it from this local retailer myself ($29.99). It arrived in that store's shipping box with the store as the return address. I started a return request and found out that after paying $72.61 return shipping, I would only receive a $10.34 refund. Then, I contacted the seller twice asking for a refund of the difference and received NO RESPONSE.
I know this is a long shot. I ordered, paid for, and received the item. I'm simply asking for something to make this situation a little more fair.

Mentor2 years agoSellers do not have to offer the best price, there is no price guarantee. eBay can not force the seller to offer you a better price, so there is no way to get any additional refund.
This type of drop shipping is not allowed, and you can report the seller for the policy violation. This does not get you any refund, but may save a future buyer some money.
On this page select violated policy - https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022 then select other. In the box write 'seller purchased item at _____ (name the retailer) and had it shipped to me to fill my order.’
