Request a Return feature no longer available for item purchased 4 months ago.
My customer wants to return an item but the purchase was 4 months ago and the listing no longer gives that option. What should I do?

Tell the buyer nicely that eBay policy is that a buyer has only 30 days following delivery to file a return request.
I can only see the items you sold from July 30 ... so I don't know the cost of the item. Was it an expensive one? [I'm asking because it might occur to the buyer to do a chargeback with their payment source once they learn that a refund is no longer possible through eBay.]

OP10 months agoYes, they mentioned disputing the charge with their credit card company. If that happens, what then?

You'll have a 1 in 3 chance of winning ... but only if you know how to fight it, which I'm afraid I can't help with.
What was the cost of the item? It would help knowing in case another mentor is able to give you some hints.

OP10 months ago$125. If they'll return it, I'll refund their money. Seems like the best case for everyone. But not sure how to work that out without the return function. If she disputes the charge, she may not return the item. Then I'm out altogether.

Then you can just tell the buyer to return the item on their dime ... and you'll provide a refund as long as the item is in the same condition as you when you shipped it.
Is it an item that can STAY in the same condition as when you sold it ... assuming the buyer has been using it?

Mentor10 months agoThey cannot use the Ebay Return Request process, so you can decline their return "request".
