Request a refund for an item that is past the refund window

Purchase was made 5 months ago. I just used it for the first time this week. It is defective. I messaged the seller who will honor the return/refund, and asked that I submit a refund request. The refund request window does not recognize the order #. How do I request the refund at this time?

eBay gives you 30 days from delivery to open a refund request. Since it has been longer than that you will need to go to your funding source and do a refund request from there. PayPal and most credit cards allow 180 days to request a refund.
