Reporting counterfeit items from listing
Seller is selling counterfeit item proven by comparing mfg web site product to eBay item description details.
How do you report to eBay that the seller's item is counterfeit and buyer can prove it via comparison to manufacturers product description in manufacturers own website.

OP1 year agoeBay customer service wants buyers to call and report a counterfeit item. That is the wrong way since several sellers of the same item are all selling the same counterfeit item.
There should be a way to communicate with eBay via a drop down to inform eBay and for the buyer to provide the proof when found by a buyer.

Until that happens, sellers are responsible for ensuring that the items they list are not infringing or are not counterfeit or misrepresented.
Buyers should not assume that eBay has vetted any seller's listing in advance. Other than a few select categories that go through third-party authentication services, eBay never sees the items that sellers list or ship.
