I was just shopping on ebay to buy some items, I searched "table lamp GU10" meaning I wanted results for table lamps that use GU10 bulbs so it would show the lamps instead of the particular bulbs. Ebay showed results for the table lamps allright but it showed like 4 different lamps only 400 times in a row, so it showed each lamp 100 times over and over again.
Each listing was using the same exact photograph and I was scrolling over and over again and I never clicked on any of the 4 different lamps because Im not interested in them and I wanted to see what else they have for sale. I finally got tired of scrolling and decided to quit shopping for the lamps. First of all ebay doesnt really do anything extremely perfect here and what happened is a REAL CUSTOMER that was ready to buy a lamp decided NOT TO BUY anything so EBAY does not make any percentage off the sale of another lamp because of their repeated listings.
Its not like im trying to be difficult with ebay but 400 listings of the same lamp is a little ridiculous to get past, it really takes like 20 minutes and I got tired of it because even when I quit ebay was still showing the same 4 lamps on every page of 100 results again and again, its not like ebay ai even cares that I was obviously not interested in the 4 different lamps, its really like ebay only cares about 4 different ebay sellers when customers are shopping for lamps that use GU10 bulbs.
I think ebay can do a little better than that especially since they make profits from making sales and not from repeated listings that dont even get clicked on
