Removing defective status from my account
About 5 months ago, I had 5 items listed that could not be shipped due to global issues with distribution. I promptly refunded my customers and explained that the items were not available.
This caused the automated system to attach a defective rating to my account.
Customers have always given me a 100% score, but this one thing got me listed as defective and stopped me from being able to sell "hot" items. CS reps have said they see the problem and would remove this defect status. There is no follow through.
I have spoken to customer service reps about 25 times, who say that a supervisor will get back to me. This never happens. This is very frustrating and unprofessional on the part of eBay.
What is the solution?

OP3 years agoThis is not what happened.
They were not out of stock.
This was during the global shipment shutdown when even Walmart wasn't getting products in.
Because of the problem with shipping, goods were stuck on ships on the west coast while they waited to be sent.
I also reached out very early, so the defect should have been removed by now.
If you follow the thread, it goes back to a few weeks after the problem.

·3 years agoDropshipping is pretty risky and rarely works out, as you've noticed.
Canceling orders for being out of stock is a no no on Ebay, and they won't remove the defects.
