Reimbursement from insurance as a seller

Question

I purchased insurance through EBay for an item I had shipped that was subsequently damaged in transit to the buyer. How do I pursue reimbursement for the damaged item?Thank you!

Have the buyer send you photos of the damaged item, the shipping label, the outer packaging, the inner packaging. You refund the buyer, ask the buyer to set all of that aside, then you go to the carrier's website and file an insurance claim, uploading all of the photos the buyer sent you.
