Refuting EBay’s suggested shipping rates based on similar items sold
There has been 3 times now where the suggested shipping rates with weight and box size are not even close to the actual shipping costs or the actual size and weight. Which I am having to cover o tremendous amount of the shipping to correct it. Moving forward I will be weighing and measuring everything myself. Is there a way to reconcile my out of pocket costs? I’m very new to this. Thank you

The advice of most if not all mentors is to disregard the suggested rates and weigh and measure everything.
eBay suggested rates are based on averages of some sort, but not helpful to me.
If you use "Buyer Pays Calculated Shipping†as the shipping method and you enter the correct weight and dimensions of your packaged item, eBay will show the correct shipping for each buyer's destination from the location zip / postal code in your listing.
✓ eBay will calculate for you and you don't enter an amount.
(If you use "Flat" shipping you have to guess and enter an estimate which may be too high or too low.)
Calculated shipping is accurate if you use accurate weight and measurements and buy your label on eBay.
