How do I return something if I bought on line not the app so the normal return process can't find my order?

It doesn’t matter on what device you ordered the item … but on whether you were signed into your eBay account when you did.
If you purchased the item as a ‘Guest’ (without signing in) … then you will have to initiate the return request from the confirmation email you received at the time you purchased the item.
