Refunds
I am a seller who shipped off an item and I packed it myself with bubble wrap I wrapped it probably about 7 to 8 times inside and out and then I also make sure that inside of the box was snug with bubble wrap all around it and the purchaser is saying that they received it broken I have not received funds from this item is on hold until the purchaser says their purchase was OK, but obviously they said that it did not come correctly it was damaged so what do I do?

Contact your buyer and ask for pictures of the item, the packing material and the box. Ask the buyer to hold on to all items as the postal carrier may wish to see everything before they decide your insurance claim.
USPS is requiring buyers to bring the item to a post office before they will consider paying your claim. Insurance claims are not paid for damage in shipping if the seller didn't package the item well enough.
Then you refund the buyer as soon as you have your pictures. The buyer doesn't wait for the insurance payout if any. Insurance is for the SELLER the buyer is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee. The seller files the insurance claim.
eBay shipping labels come with $100 insurance except for media mail.
Here's how to file insurance claims with each postal carrier or insurance provider>

Did you just use LARGE bubble wrap for the Lays jar? It should have had real Styrofoam peanuts too. The corn starch peanuts go flat when an item is on the heavy side.
If you don't feel comfortable throwing a box at least 4 feet and having another heavy box land on top of it then you need more packing material.
