Refunded a buyer who was not happy and she never returned my item
A buyer claimed the box was damaged in shipping and wanted a refund. I agreed to a refund if she agreed to return my items. A full refund including shipping was sent but she never sent my items back. I kept reporting it to e-bay but this did not help. Now when I try to investigate I am told the case is closed. How can I get my items back?

If you choose to refund before you get the item back, that indicates you don't want it back. That's why eBay tells you to wait for the return before refunding. If you refund, no return label will be issued and the buyer has no legal obligation to return it.
eBay cannot help you with this and there is nothing to report. The buyer is not at fault. If the buyer would like to return the damaged item at this point, you can purchase a return label through a site like pirateship.com. and then email it to her.
However, one question to ask yourself...is it worth paying for a label to get back a low-cost damaged item?

OP1 year agoI am not the one who gave her the refund, e-bay just took it out of my bank account.

That's what I hate about passive voice: Who or what performed the action is not specified. If you had instead said something like "eBay refunded the buyer with my funds" then your replies would have have been entirely different.

If eBay refunded, that's because you didn't accept the return in the case within the time allowed. In that case, the buyer has no obligation to return it.

Mentor1 year agoSadly, once you refund the buyer, there is no way to get them to return your item.
It's always best to wait until you get the item back to refund the buyer.
You can reach out to the buyer and hope that they return the item. Did you send them a return label?
