refund to gift card I threw away

Question

I bought an item that I unfortunately had to return. I had paid with a combination of a $50 gift card and $57 to my credit card. After making the purchase, I threw the gift card away. The money is being refunded as it was paid, but I have no idea where to find the number on the gift card I used. Getting customer service for help is a joke. No topics match exactly so no answers fit.. Any suggestions?
