refund shipping costs
My buyer paid $141. to ship an item to her. She's paid for her transaction, but now has decided to pick up the item & wants a refund on her shipping charges. Problem is, the funds have not been deposited in my account yet. How do I handle this? I've requested to void the label, but that takes awhile for that to get processed.

The path of least resistance is to have the Buyer message you requesting a cancellation so you can:
-Cancel using the reason "Buyer requested ... "
-Relist with Local pick up only and they can purchase it again
If you Voided the label it will take up to 21 days to be credited back to your account.

OP2 years agoThanks for your response. I hesitate to cancel the transaction & redo it, because my funds will be tied up for 21 days! I don't have that kind of money to float that....

In that case eBay expects to see a tracking number for the shipment uploaded to the sold file within your Handling time to avoid a Late shipping defect.
I will share a story with you that happened years ago and long before eBay Seller metrics. A Seller sold an item and realized that they would be passing the local Customer's neighborhood on their way to a meeting the next day. They messaged the Customer and asked if they would like the item dropped off, the Customer said that would be fine. In order to satisfy the tracking requirement the Seller told the Customer when they met with him that he would be receiving a very small box with tracking and a thank you note inside and explained why.
