Refund shipping charges to a buyer
I would like to issue a partial refund of shipping charges to a buyer, but can't find any way to do it. Do I have to wait until AFTER I actually ship the item to do this? I cannot find anything in the help sections about this.

Mentor2 years agoIt's also a good idea to wait until after you ship if you use eBay labels. Sellers have reported not being able to find a way to print a label after issuing partial refunds.

I think that may have been the case a long long time ago or sellers just didn't realize the option was no longer the default and they had to look in the dropdown next to the order for it. But a label can be purchased after a refund now (though it makes sense to me to refund after creating the label anyway - just from a process perspective).

You can issue a partial refund using the Send refund option in the dropdown next to the order transaction.
You can do this before or after purchasing your label (though I find it makes more sense to do it after so I know exactly what I'm paying for the label).
