Refund question
Buyer received wrong item by mistake and has been absolutely wonderful and understanding. They did immediately request a refund which of course I approved and provided shipping for. The correct item they purchased is now lost with USPS (worst luck ever and first time it's ever happened), I've sent confirmation to the buyer it's USPS's issue, and again they've been more than understanding.
My problem is I'm getting daily messages from ebay to issue the refund, but the buyer has explaineded they don't mind waiting and don't want to miss out on their purchase (it's a rather rather rare vinyl). I'm very understanding why they want to keep the refund open in case they never receive the item. At the same time, they don't want their refund issued yet for fear of losing the album. I've been very clear with the buyer they can have their refund the second they ask, but not sure how to explain to eBay why I haven't issued it yet.
I'm stuck between ebay demanding I issue the return, and a buyer asking me to wait who's already been extremely understanding. What do I do?
