REFUND PROCEDURE - Amount refunded?
If I sell an item for $400 + $10 shipping, my net will be around $340. If the person returns the item, how much do I refund? Will ebay automatically refund to me my seller fee?

Mentor2 years ago@oldtoyguns When you refund a buyer eBay does refund your sellers fees IF you refund willingly. If the buyer has to ask eBay to step in and force a refund then you get a DEFECT and do not get your sellers fees back. The buyer also may be allowed to keep the item.
This is how refunds work>>
Refunds, even for order cancellations, come out of your available funds not pending or held. If you do not have available funds then eBay charges your back up payment method for selling costs.
Have you entered your backup payment method for selling costs here: https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list Select Manage under the method you want to use then select Preferred for selling costs. I use a credit card.
Once you issue the refund and the buyers funds are released from being held or finish processing then the buyers payment is released to you.
You will need to contact eBay customer service for assistance if you have any problems with the refund process.

OP2 years agoIt has not happened yet, I want to be prepared. I presume I wait for the item to be returned to me.

Mentor2 years agoThat's correct. Do NOT refund until you have the item back. The buyer can not print a return a label after a refund is issued and they no longer have a reason to return your item. Sometimes it's better for your bottom line to refund without a return such as a low priced item, or it was damaged in shipping.
