Refund issued instead of return.
I sold a $300 laptop and the buyer received it and says it will not turn on. They requested a return and I accepted. Ebay charged my account and I don't have the money, but now ebay says the return is closed and I can't find anywhere explaining when I will get the item back from the buyer? Did I mess up and issue a refund instead of a return? I was doing it from my phone at the time and I am starting to worry I messed up, is there anyway I can get the item back? I have never done a return before I thought I was simply accepting a full refund for the item to be returned to me. Thanks for the help.

Mentor4 months agoWhen a buyer files a returns request, you can accept, in which case ebay sends the buyer a link to print out the return shipping label. However, if you click to refund the buyer in full, the buyer does not get a return shipping label, and the case closes. The buyer does not need to return the item. If you want the item back, you will need to contact the buyer and explain that you want the item back, and will provide a shipping label for its return. You can do that using Pirateship.com or Paypal.
