Refund issue first time
Summary: mayaah shared an issue where they sold a gaming laptop described with a cracked screen and accepted a return from a buyer who missed that detail. Upon return, the laptop couldn't be reset due to a BitLocker prompt, and there are suspicions of part swapping as the buyer claimed it was dusty. mayaah is seeking advice on how to involve eBay for resolution.
So I sold a gaming laptop that I described as having a cracked screen but working as it should. Buyer missed that part and said wanted to return. I accepted the return and when I got it back I can't log in nor reset it because he didn't reset it before sending it back. It asks me for a 48 digit Btlocker.
Seller is telling me to get a USB to wipe it and install windows.
I believe he swap parts because he said he had to clean it because it was very dusty. I got the laptop back today.
I've been trying to get Ebay to step in but I can't find a way

If you ask eBay to step in they will force a refund from your account, you will get a DEFECT, you will not get your sellers fees back.
There is no way to prove to eBay that the computer was in the condition you stated when it was shipped. It is a case of "he said, she said".
Sellers that offer Free Returns or are Top Rated and have Buyer pays returns may reduce the refund amount by up to 50%.
You should report the buyer for abusing the eBay MBG, this doesn't get your money back but it goes on the buyers record.
