Refund Help
Summary: sahu_2634 shared their experience of trying to obtain a refund for a $450 pair of shoes purchased for their son's prom. The seller, after initially agreeing to provide a refund due to a delay, was unable to process it after returning from vacation. sahu_2634 has faced difficulties with eBay's customer service, encountering obstacles with automated responses and a lack of support options, and is seeking advice on how to proceed with obtaining the refund.
On 5/4, I purchased a pair of shoes for my son’s prom that were about $450. The next day the seller contacted me and said he was on vacation and wouldn’t be home in time to send me the shoes in time for my son’s prom. He said I could cancel and he would refund me, so that’s what I did.
He contacted me again and said he would have to wait to issue the refund until he got back, so I agreed to wait. Once he returned he tried to refund me and wasn’t able to…perhaps the window of time closed. He’s been trying and then reached out to me to have me contact eBay to have them process the refund. I called several times and get no where with AI and can’t speak with an actual person. I tried clicking on the item I cancelled to look for the option to get eBay involved and that’s not an option either. I’ve hit a dead end, does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Mentor2 weeks agoSo the shoes were purchased May 4 ? It is too late for ebay to help you. You should have filed an Item Not Received case when the item was at least 1 day late, but not more than 30 days. All you can do now is contact your credit card issuer, if that is how you paid, regarding a chargeback. Most credit card issuers will accept a chargeback for up to 180 days past the date of transaction.
