Refund from Seller in China
I purchased a keyboard from a Seller. The picture was exactly what I needed. After purchased I discovered it was coming from China (did not inspire confident). Cost Approx. 230.00 + 50.00 frt.
When Item arrived, it was totally different keyboard. Now the fun begins. Seller asked me to keep unit and he would give me 25.00. I refused. Don't want the wrong keyboard and it did not match original picture. I asked for full refund.
Seller now wants my PayPal email to give money to ship unit back. I do not trust him. I have asked him to do everything through eBay. Is this wrong? Doesn't he have ability to send money back through eBay?
I need help. Please

The seller can't provide a return label through eBay because they are in another country. They have to send the funds to your paypal account. However they must send you enough for Priority shipping.
Don't share anything until after you file a return request.
I am sorry that you had a bad seller. You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee. This not only gets you a full refund but also goes on the sellers record.
You have 30 days from date of delivery to file an item not as described refund request on eBay.

4 business days after filing the return request if the seller has not provided a return shipping label OR sent the funds to your PayPal account to pay return shipping if they are in another country then ask eBay to step in and help:

If you have to purchase a label at the post office with the funds that the seller provided be sure to upload the tracking number into the case. The tracking number is your proof of delivery.
Returns to countries that do not have 1st class delivery confirmation MUST be shipped Priority Mail.

OP2 years agoTHANK YOU! Now Seller says he needs my PayPal email address. eBay told me not to share personal information outside of eBay. So this is a bit confusing, especially with China and a blatant "bate and switch."
After communicating with ebay and Seller, I requested a label through ebay. Hope this works for him...

OP2 years agoSorry, reread your message. Understand the difficulty for Seller on label. But cannot send money back via eBay? Do I have to share my PalPay email?

Mentor2 years ago@rayjtarrats. There's no way for a seller to send you more money than you originally paid through eBay.
The seller can't do anything with your PayPal email address other than send you money as far as financial risk.
The only thing that they could do is spam you and you just block the spam and report to eBay. It's really unlikely that this would happen though.

Mentor2 years ago@rayjtarrats. The seller can NOT provide a label through eBay as eBay labels are only US postal service.
The official way to have the seller pay return shipping when they are located in another country IS to send the money to your PayPal account.
What is supposed to happen is you ask eBay to step in and they put the case on hold for 5 business days . During that time the seller sends the money to your PayPal account to pay return shipping. Returns to China must be sent via Priority mail so you have tracking proof of delivery. Be sure to manually upload the tracking number into the return request.
