Refund For Recalled Item

Question

I received notice from eBay that an item I purchased in April 2025 is dangerous and has been recalled. Looking at the recall notice (which came from the UK) the date of the recall was in 2022. For some reason, I can't initiate a refund request from the seller or with the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

The seller is located in China and the item was also manufactured in China, however, I cannot find the manufacture's name on the item or in the recall notice...just the description of the item.

So, is there anyway to submit a refund request or should I just forget about the $48?

Neither eBay or the Seller will refund you. The only avenue you have and it is a very thin one due to the time involved is filing a dispute with your funding source, PayPal, credit card, etc. Otherwise you are eating the $ 48 ...
