Refund for faulty iPhone.
Summary: spar0862 shared their frustrating experience with a faulty refurbished iPhone purchased for their sister. The SIM card tray was defective, and the seller initially ignored their messages. Although the seller eventually agreed to a replacement, it took nine days and repeated reminders for the phone to arrive. spar0862 is now unable to get further assistance from the seller or contact eBay directly, despite the phone having a 12-month warranty, and is seeking advice.
I purchased a refurbished iPhone for my elder sister. When it arrived it was faulty and the SIM card/tray would not lock into place, rendering the phone useless.
After several messages being ignored by the seller, he eventually agreed & I returned the phone and was told I’d receive the replacement phone “within 48hours…”
More messages and more excuses from the seller, after 9 days I’d had enough and told him at least 3 times to keep his phone and refund my account accordingly.
I received a replacement phone on the 9th day. He now ignores my messages and there seems no avenue available to actually explain the situation to eBay in person.
The phone came with a 12 month warranty.
Please advise.

The eBay Money Back Guarantee is 30 days from the date of delivery for phones. If you have not had the phone more than 30 days then you need to file a not as described return request case. The seller pays return shipping and refunds you 100%.
Exchanges/ replacement items do not work well in eBay's system. It is best to always return the item and then buy again if you wish to from the same seller. This way the 30 day MBG applies to the replacement phone too.
If it was an Allstate warranty then you have to contact Allstate for service OR refund of the $ paid for the warranty.
All other claims of warranties are from the manufacturer and manufacturers do not honor warranties unless the item is sold by a retail outlet.

If eBay is not able to assist you then you will need to file a chargeback with your payment method. Same this option for LAST because once you contact your payment method eBay can no longer assist you and their decision will be final.
