Refund for damaged international shipment
I sold a china tea cup to a buyer in Canada, and I paid eBay $8 for a shipping label to a town in Illinois (the hub for international shipments). The package arrived with no damage and was sent on to Canada, after eBay billed the buyer an additional international shipping charge. Unfortunately, the package arrived damaged, the cup was broken. The buyer contacted eBay and was told it would take 10 days for him to get a refund. so, he immediately contacted me demanding a refund. I didn't know the process for international shipping, so I submitted a refund request. EBay sent the buyer the purchase price + $8 shipping, but not the international shipping charge. Now the buyer is insistent that I refund that cost to him as well. However, all the "help" on eBay will refund international charges, not the seller. How can I get the buyer his shipping refund, now that he's received the original purchase price refund?

Mentor2 years agoIf you used the new ebay International Shipping program you should have not refunded and let ebay handle it. Buyer needs to contact ebay.
