I had bought two speakers of equal (close) value. Both roughly $180. Both were sent back. One was accepted and the other claimed I sent him the wrong item and tried to commit fraud. If I did manage to somehow switch the two; which, I don’t believe, he now has both my money and an item of equal value. I feel he should be required to send it back under those circumstances.
What was the reason for the return? If it was "not as described", then the seller is required to refund you upon return once tracking shows delivery if you used an eBay return label within the allotted time.
If the item is not returned in original condition (or if it is not the item the seller shipped), if the seller is top-rated, the seller can withhold up to 50% of the item's value from the refund.
I did an appeal and lost after their review. I can’t even reach anyone to talk about the issue. Clicking through my refund links it states case closed that I was denied. That’s it.

eBay can't force anyone to send or return anything except a refund under certain circumstances.
If the seller rejects a "remorse" return, the buyer typically keeps the item and the seller keeps the money.
If you want more info than that, you may have to provide some details of your situation.

OP4 months agoIt was returned for not being as described. Once he received it, he claimed it was the incorrect item. Not likely but is possible.

Mentor4 months agoIf you returned it using eBay's return label in time, he has to refund you at least 50% if he is top-rated, or 100% if not.
If he does not voluntarily refund you within three business days, you can ask eBay to step in and force a refund.
