Refund being disputed by seller
Prior to buying a CD player, I confirmed twice with a seller that it worked. However, it did not work upon delivery. So I requested a refund and the seller apologized, agreed, and actually admitted to not testing the unit prior to shipping it (which means the seller lied).
The unit was returned per USPS tracking, but now the seller has opened a case. I don’t know what there is to dispute. The seller lied, and based on that lie I made a purchase.
What can I do at this point? I’m worried I won’t be refunded. I keep getting messages stating the unit is being sent to me again and it’s all very confusing.
I’m obviously upset. The seller seems to be a low life. The CD player arrived with loose screws and empty cracker packages inside the box. Everything also had a strong lingering cigarette smell.
The bottom line is that the seller claimed something worked and it didn’t, and then agreed to a refund and now seems to be reneging on that.
What’s likely to happen? And how can I email eBay’s customer service?
Desperate for help with this. Thanks

Mentor1 year agoIf you filed a Returns Request, the seller accepted and provided a prepaid return shipping label, and the tracking shows Delivered, the seller has 2 days to refund you. If no refund, on day 3, go back to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.
