Refund
Ebay sold the same ticket twice. The first purchaser received his ticket
I tried to cancel the second ticket , but have been able to do so
The second buyer needs a refund. I have tried to cancel the order and set up a refund but was unsuccessful.
I am thinking the best thing for me to do is get a money order and return the second buyer's money directly to him.
Thankd

Mentor1 month ago@angel_patri As @disneyshopper stated you should be able to go to the sold item and select cancel as out of stock. You do unfortunately receive a DEFECT for having to cancel the sale this way. You get your sellers fees back but not the transaction fee of .40cents.
If you refund outside of eBay then eBay will have no record of it and the buyer can ask for a refund again.
The refund is probably not working because you need to add a back up payment method for selling costs.
This is how refunds work>>
Refunds, even for order cancellations, come out of your available funds not pending or held. If you do not have available funds then eBay charges your back up payment method for selling costs.
Have you entered your backup payment method for selling costs here: https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list Select Manage under the method you want to use then select Preferred for selling costs. I use a credit card.
Once you issue the refund and the buyers funds are released from being held or finish processing then the buyers payment is released to you.

OP1 month agoFirst I canceled the order. Then I went to issue a refund. I already had my checking account with refunds.Payments etc. The screen for another refund source. I'm not flipped on add refund sourcenothing came up. I happen to email notifications where eBay sold one ticket. And one minute later sold it again. I have sent multiple emails asking for help. I have responded multiple times offering an email response by a bay , but no response has been forthcoming. I am a new seller. This is only my fourth transaction. All other transactions have followed the ebay requirements. I'm inclined to send money order to the buyer. But again , as you point it out , he could ask for another refund. I\nDo appreciate your response and links.

Mentor1 month ago@angel_patri One other option for a refund is to go to the sold listing on this page> https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
Click the 3 dots and then select send refund.
When you cancel an order as out of stock that does start the refund process. It takes about a week to reach the buyers account.

Mentor1 month agoYou should be able to file a Cancellation for Out of Stock. That will automatically refund the buyer.
