I understand this is a public discussion board, but my issue is that the package was never actually received by me. A tracking status showing “delivered” does not guarantee the item was physically secured or received by the buyer, especially in apartment buildings or shared delivery areas where theft can occur.
The item was delivered earlier than expected, left without signature confirmation, and was no longer there when I went to retrieve it. I’m aware package theft can happen, which is exactly why I filed the claim in good faith under eBay’s buyer protections.
I’m pursuing this further through the proper dispute process because I paid for an item that I never received in my possession.
Again, the packaged does not have to be received by you, nor is your signature required. It has to be delivered to the address you provided. What happens to it after that is your responsibility. Once tracking shows delivery, you are no longer covered by the Money Back Guarantee. You're welcome to get confirmation of that (again) when you attempt to receive a refund through the dispute process.
I understand your position, however eBay’s Money Back Guarantee also covers items that are not actually received by the buyer. Although the tracking shows “delivered,” the package was left unsecured in a shared lobby area and was never physically received by me.
I did not authorize the package to be left unattended without signature confirmation, and I reported the issue promptly after realizing the item was missing. A delivery scan alone does not guarantee that the item safely reached the intended recipient.
I am requesting that this claim be reviewed further, as I never took possession of the item I purchased.
eBay is not here. This is a public board where experienced volunteer mentors respond to questions about how eBay works.
I would recommend that you reread the Money Back Guarantee so you understand exactly what it covers. eBay does NOT cover your situation (nor does USPS).
Signature confirmation does not come with postage, it is an extra add on. You don't have to authorize not using it. If you want it, you have to request the seller to bill you for the extra charge.
As already advised, you know that your delivery location is not safe so you should take steps to have your packages delivered to a location that IS safe. As already suggested by @disneyshopper , consider renting a PO Box for that purpose.
I was guaranteed my money back however since it says it was delivered i can’t . I am requesting a refund or replacement for this order because I never received the package personally. Although the tracking shows ‘delivered,’ it was left unattended in my apartment lobby without a signature requirement. The package also arrived earlier than the expected delivery date of 5/12, so I was not prepared to retrieve it at that time. Unfortunately, package theft is common in my building area, and by the time I was notified, the item had already been taken.
You will need to contact your local police department, as well as your homeowners insurance. If this is common in your apartment building, I would suggest getting a P.O. Box for your purchases.
You have eBay's money back guarantee if the package isn't delivered. However it WAS delivered...you just didn't provide a safe delivery location. I'm sorry this happened, but once delivered, you are responsible for what happens to it.
The estimated delivery date is just that - an estimate - so you can't count on a specific delivery date. You were not required to sign for the package because you didn't pay extra for signature confirmation.

We're going to need a little more information than that to answer your question.
What is this in regard to and what has happened so far?
