OP8 months agoThe one where I ask for a refund before the item was shipped and I have tried to reach the seller but they haven't responded and my money is in limbo

Which scenario have you had happen or have both happened to you?
If you request cancelling an item that has already shipped, the seller will not agree to cancel, because the cost to recall a package is around $18.
What you need to realize is that once you pay for an item you have entered into a contract, and the only way a contract can be broken is if all parties to it agree to cancel. eBay Does Not require sellers to agree to cancellation requests.
So what you should be doing is adding items to your Watch list, until you are sure you want the item. Then when you are ready to buy it, open the listing from your watch list and click on the Buy It Now button.
