Your seller cannot refund the tax, since they didn't collect it. eBay will refund the tax portion if the return was processed correctly.
Did you file a 'return request' prior to returning the money ... or did you just send a message to the seller about wanting to return the item?

OP1 year agoi started the return on ebya after i went to my recently purchased items list and went from there. the item has been received by the seller already, my refund it processing. i spent $27.75 on the item shipping was $5.21 tax was $1.57, however it appears the shipping is what i havnt received yet not the tax. anywho its $22.23 that im about to receive. not the FULL amount of $27.75, which is the issue. i should receive the full amount in return since that is what i paid. on any other purchase in the past there has been no issue. i guess i will just have to be patient and reach out to support on ebay in a few days if it is not resolved properly.

Mentor1 year agoWhat was the reason for the return? If it was for changing your mind on the purchase then a seller can refund just the item price.
