refund
buyer bought 8 different items and paid individually for each item. they were each only $5 dollars and now i need to refund them $38 and its over purchase price so it wint let me refund. do i have to refund each individual item some money

Yes, you have to refund a portion of each item, or at least most of the items. You always want to do this, in case of a return, unless the difference is small.
