REFUND!
Hi, I bought a 5 pack of Kodak Portra 400 film back in April, the box was sealed and sold accordingly, since I dont shoot film often, I stored it until this month when I was set to shoot, opened the box and had 0 (zero) Kodak Portra 400 rolls, but some other cheap, and in who-knows which state other film stocks that I dont like and never use, OFC the product nor only didnt meet the listing and the box (super strange because it came sealed), I got some **bleep**ty stuff impossible to use for my "portrait/fashion" purposes and in uncertain state such as AGFA Vista 200 ISO, lomography Babylon ISO 13, etc etc.
SINCE the product was purchased more than 90 days ago, im unable to ask for a refund via Ebay, the product wont show up for picks, only what I´ve bought on the last 90 days. I contacted support, and was told to adress / dm the buyer and arrange with him, I did, he showed good will replying a 1st message, and then stopped replying. Its a symbolic and not expensive amount about $50-60, however It ruined my day and I couldnt carry on my SCHEDULED WORK with such unexpected surprise, and later I had to get local store films at 5x its price. I´ve been on EBAY for years, bought probably hundred times, and you can check my reputation / purchase history. I need this to get if fixed as soon as possible either via Ebay or via the Seller. Thanks

Mentor2 years agoYour seller doesn't even have access to the transaction after this long. Your payment source is your only recourse since the eBay 30 day money back guarantee has long passed. Fraud would run rampant if refunds could be given after 8 months. No store would offer that either. The moral of the story would be to check purchases so you could utilize the eBay guarantee if necessary.

OP2 years agoThanks, so what should I do, buy another item from HIM and leave the proper feedback? Cause I couldnt even leave a review. Its not fair that I have to go trough all this, put yourself in my shoes.

Mentor2 years ago@floydbent Surely you’re not just discovering that life isn’t ‘fair’. 😉
And I have been in your shoes. Years ago, l purchased a 1-year gym membership on sale … after being assured that I could delay the activation of the membership indefinitely. [I was anticipating getting a second round of bilateral carpal tunnel surgeries … which I knew would require months of recuperation before I could use weights … and I wanted to delay the start of the membership until my hands were fully healed.]
The surgeries took longer to schedule than expected, and when I finally went to the gym (with my paperwork) to start my membership … I was told there was no record of my purchase. The gym apparently had changed computers after I bought the membership, and there was no way for the manager to tell whether I had already activated and completed my 1-year membership. I lost $200+ dollars, which was an enormous amount of money at the time.
But back to your situation: You cannot purchase another item from the seller for the purpose of leaving bad feedback. It’s a serious violation of eBay policy … AND you don’t even know whether the seller was aware of what actually was in your package. [They could have purchased the item in a thrift store and listed it unopened on eBay.]
Sometimes we just have to accept that life isn’t always fair … AND that it was probably our responsibility to have taken action sooner: your checking what was inside the sealed package (and my keeping in touch with the gym) during the many months following our purchases.

Mentor2 years agoNOT a good idea. You can put your own account in jeopardy, as this is feedback manipulation and YOU would be reported. Your seller might not even know this. They got a sealed box and sold it. You are alleging that they switched the product on purpose when this might not even be the case.
Sorry, but I wouldn't be in your shoes because I would have checked my item so as not to void the 30 day money back guarantee. So did you check with your funding source? Do it quickly.

OP2 years agoits so frustrating, so I got rugged and cant do anything, and its almost my fault for not checking / open the item box... This year I bought around 20 items, I checked 19 except this one, because it was a sealed box, and It was straight to my refrigerator to be stored.. so sad.

Mentor2 years agoHi @floydbent
What an unusual, unfortunate situation! While it’s certainly understandable that you didn’t think to check what was inside a sealed box of film when you received it … not doing so put you past the deadline of requesting a refund from eBay, PayPal, and your credit card company.
You can try appealing to the seller’s better angels … but you have no leverage for forcing a refund 8 months after purchasing the item. I’m so sorry.

OP2 years agoofc I didnt check, never had any issue for years, and the box was sealed (a 5 pack), I´ve bought hundreds of film rolls troughout the years and even expired film and never had any issue, but this was sort of a scam, and seems intentional since the box was sealed and had zero items of the product listing. Ebay´s been my *1 place for years, I hope anyone can help me, its not much about the money, but a user experience, seller attitude / behavior, and I lost my work, my day, and Im still here using my time to ask the community for help.

Mentor2 years agoUnfortunately eBay's money back guaranty only lasts 30 days from receipt of the item. I would normally say contact your payment source to see if they can help but most credit/debit cards only provide help for 180 days from purchase. But check with your payment source anyway as some will cover you for longer.

OP2 years agoI contacted support, and they said I have to arrange with the seller off Ebay, so thats what I tried to do, but he is ignoring my messages, this is unacceptable attitude
