Received what appears to be legitimate email from ebay asking if I wanted to close my account??
Received an email that looking at the source code appears to be legitimately from ebay. It says they have noted no activity in some time and they can help close the account. That sounded like a red flag to me since (1) I am always active both buying and selling, and (2) ebay doesn't reach out to me by email except regarding something sold/purchased or some change in policies. I dug into the code, also backtracked the links they provided and it looks legit. Has anyone else received this kind of email lately? I reached out to ebay to let them know I received the message and, if it is from them, there is an issue because my records will clearly show I'm active. If it isn't them or is a mistake or some silly way to initiate contact then I'd like to know.

It sounds bogus and suspicious ... your accounts appears to be a low activity account but certainly not a dormant account. But, having said that nobody really knows what eBay does and doesn't do, it could be a test on account profiles similar to yours just to "see if anybody is home?"

OP9 months agoThanks! I went into my ebay account and there was no message there - went back to the email I received and sussed out the actual sending email address better and it is bogus. Thank you for your reply! All is well!

OP9 months agoUPDATE - SCAM. I went into my ebay account and this message does NOT appear in my account messages. Big flag that the one sent to my email account is bogus. Reported to Outlook and to eBay. God I despise scammers.
