received item not bid on

Question

yesterday i recieved an item in the mail that i had never bid on, was not charged for, and in fact had never even LOOKED at while listed.

the packing slip had my name and address on it.

i was not charged for this item.

what gives?

Are you expecting any eBay purchases? Check the tracking number on those against the one on the package you received, could be an honest seller who got your order mixed up with someone else's or the like. Or it could be a dishonest seller wanting you to file an Item Not Received instead of Not As Described case and lose because s/he has the tracking number showing delivery on the package you got.

Is there any indication in/on the package that it is related to an eBay transaction? If so what eBay related information (item number, seller ID, listing title) does it give?

Does it say return on the packing list? Or does it have a return ID# in the lower left corner of the label?
