RECEIVED FAKE GOODS LISTED AS NEW AND WERE USED
I purchased something which I generally buy directly from the factory but it's no longer available so I turned to ebay. I ordered 2 "New" devices from a UK seller (with very high shipping) and what I received was not only used (dirty, smelly, with used components) but fakes. I've owned many of these items over the years and was simply replacing my used devices with new, but ironically what I received was in much worse condition than what I already owned. I contacted the seller who told me to mail to him, saying nothing about paying for shipping or making a claim through ebay. A neighbor told me to contact ebay and tell them about the counterfeit items and when I did they initiated a return which the seller accepted. However, another problem is that seller did not send the items in a box but wrapped them in a shopping bag which he covered in tape (no bubblewrap or anything) into an L shape -- I'd never seen anything like this. So now I have to find a box and packaging materials, etc. I offered to send ebay photos to prove that these items are fake but they said I should re-wrap the items in the same manner they were shipped to me and if "the carrier does not accept" the package then to get a letter and let ebay know. This is all a lot of work and trouble (and I don't have the brown packaging tape the seller used) and I'm truly surprised that ebay is not concerned with these being used sold as new, let alone being fakes which is specifically prohibited by ebay's own terms. Granted ebay can't necessarily know they're fakes but I'd like to know what I can do or say to ebay or the seller as this is causing me to be very upset (I'm a senior citizen with health issues and the last thing I need is to be dealing with this disappointingly troublesome issue).
