received damaged item
I received my order which was damaged during shipping. I emailed seller and didn't receive a reply so reached out to eBay and was told to open a case, which i did. Seller finally did reach back to me and was upset i opened a claim case. Seller has refused to do refund until I close claim. Ebay said having a open claim protects me as they can step in but if i close it ebay can't assist in getting my refund. Seller said "the call is yours, close claim case and I'll do the refund, if not then no refund" Is this normally how sellers treat buyers? I am not closing the claim as it's my only way to receive my refund

Mentor1 year ago@big_lin Do NOT close the claim, eBay agent is correct if you close it then eBay can't help you.
Ask eBay to step in on the 4th business day and they will either force a refund from the sellers account or force the seller to issue a refund without the return of the item. The eBay Money Back Guarantee over rules the sellers return policy.
4 business days after filing the return request if the seller has not provided a return shipping label or a full refund then ask eBay to step in and help: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
Let me know if you need to return an item to another country as there are additional steps required. The seller pays return shipping for an item that is not as described no matter where they are located.

OP1 year agoThis seller was very difficult to work with..Threats of NO refund while claim is open. Seller would say "it's your call" if you want a refund or not. At first only offered me 50% refund on an item not usable. I have several emails from her stating OPEN CLAIN then NO REFUND. Did not want item back but i did use the shipping label and sent it back to her.
Never had an experience like this..I even showed her the email from, eBay stating the refund can be done with open claim yet she gave me hard time..
Thanks for your support

Mentor1 year ago@big_lin. I am sorry that you had such a bad seller. The seller has 2 business days to refund you once the tracking shows delivery. You can ask eBay to step in on the 3rd business day after the seller has the item back and force the refund if needed.

OP1 year agoI've been tracking it so now it's wait and see.
She doesn't want me to write a negative review but I feel others should be aware of her and her bully style of doing business.

Mentor1 year ago@big_lin. Just wait until you get your refund then leave appropriate feedback. FYI if eBay has to force the refund then the seller gets a Defect and doesn't get their sellers fees back.
