Received an "OFFER"..........automatically approved and payment sent.
So, is this the new eBay way to do business? I received an offer for an item that clearly was not what I wanted, needless to say, I didn't accept the offer, so I assumed it was just going to expire and be done with it, but!! to my surprise the next thing I know I see the seller is shipping me the item (pair of shorts), tried to cancel it but it was too late, and then I saw there were other 3 offers sent to me, except I had to decline those offers as I am afraid that eBay will automatically assume that I want to accept them if I let them run 1 second before they expire and then it'd charge me whatever they offer.
Is this the new way to buy and pay w/o your consent? I know my this is set to "automatically" payment but this shouldn't be allowed, unless I agree, clearly not in the "offer" sent section.

·2 years agoOne must accept an offer to be charged.
eBay does not automatically charge for a purchase until an offer is accepted.
If an offer is sent (by the buyer), and if that offer is accepted (by the seller), eBay will automatically charge the buyer’s funding source.
This is all explained in the buyer best offer submission process.
