Received an Offer via Message
to make a long story short I had an item listed for about $130. I had a buyer message me that he was willing to pay 300. We agreed. I’m told him to place the bid at that and I end the listing selling to the highest bidder. Then when he went back to bid it only went to $135.50 because it was an automatic bid. How can I hold this guy accountable for the $300 price?

Offers are made through the "Best Offer" option on the listing if the B.O. option is available. Offers are not made through messages. There is no Best Offer option on your listing.
You cannot hold this guy accountable for the $300 price they offered in their message, because in an auction, all the bidder has to do is bid more than the highest bidder at the time they place their bid.
