I am bidding on an item, more expensive than anything I've bought before. Just as I am about to agree to their price, they increase the price by $200. This seems terribly dishonest. It's true there are things people want on ebay, but after bidding for days and getting no counter offer, then the price goes from $650. to $850. at the last round, what can I do?

Is this an item you discovered on eBay?
There are no counter offers in the bidding process.
This does not sound like a standard eBay transaction.
Be careful out there.
