Reached out to seller and they responded with 'this is a scam' Please help!

Hi,

I reached out to the seller to ask when they would be sending my item, and they sent back a message saying "this is a scam"

Message sent to 'report this message':

I really need a new phone and am on a fixed income. That is $500.00 I can't afford to lose. Please help.

Here is what I sent the seller:

I purchased this Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max - 1 TB - Black Titanium (Unlocked) on March 10, 2026 to replace my broken iPhone. I really need this phone asap. When are you shipping it?

RESPONSE:

This is a scam

I keep trying to reach out to eBay but it says I need to wait to give the seller a chance to send it - but the seller sent me a message that it's a scam.

Does anyone have a phone number or a way to get a hold of customer service?

Really sorry that happened ... eBay is only going to advise you the following with regard to your protection via the eBay Money Back Guarantee:

The date you want to keep an eye on is the original estimated delivery date. One day past that is when you can process a claim.

You are protected by the eBay Money Back Guarantee for 30 days from the latest estimated delivery date: eBay Money Back Guarantee policy

You can file a claim via the item in your Purchase History that you did not receive your item one day past the original estimated delivery date and up to 30 days after that. Follow the steps in the claim and they will lead to an eventual refund.
