Re : when did Brea in California become an international destination for a US seller ?
I bid on an item on 17 July. 24 n scale engines for repair or restoration that did not have the locomotive shells. My winning bid was $35 + shipping of $22.45 to Brea in California. Great price if I may say.
This ship-to address I have used for the last 4 years. Never missed a shipment that I purchased on eBay.
2 and a half hours after auction closed, buyer sent me a message stating that he does not ship international. Soon after, he cancelled my order and refunded. Reason he gave was “ issue with buyer’s address “.
I sent 4 messages clarifying that my address is a US address in Brea, California that I have been using for the last 4 years. However, no response whatsoever from seller and it is now more than 24 hours after this cancellation.
I read the 3 negative feedback that he had and one stated that he sent an email to a buyer about a refund without giving a reason. When contacted, he said he did not have item even though he sent tracking information. He claimed that it was a mistake of duplicate listing.
My winning bid of $35 for 24 engines, all with motors. Wow ! What a great buy ?
Is that why Brea in California became an international destination for this seller ?
My question. :-
What can I do to get him to Ho our my winning bid and ship my products ?

Mentor3 years agoWhen the transaction is cancelled, it's over. It sounds like the buyer is not going to sell the items to you. Since he misrepresented the reason for the cancellation, you can report him here:

1. Select The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies and click Continue.
2. On the next page, enter the seller's ID and select Other.
3. In the comment section, write "In order to avoid a defect, seller cancelled order stating that there was a problem with my address (claiming that Brea, CA in the US was an international destination) ."

OP3 years agoThanks for your reply. I did what you suggested. A few days later, I wrote a negative feedback which was removed. Now, seller has split original listing into 2 and is asking 4 times the price of my winning bid per engine. Can I conclude that seller did not want to deliver because he did not get his price in my winning bid ? Can he do that ?

Mentor3 years agoYes you can conclude that. He can do it, but he isn't supposed to. And he isn't allowed to misrepresent the reason for the cancellation either. Had he cancelled correctly, he would have been penalized with a defect on his seller account. That is why I advised reporting it.
