Re-open closed return
I purchased a bedspread and it did not fit the bed. I opened a return and as I was preparing the item for shipment, I noticed the bedspread had what looked like water stains. I went to edit the refund/ return request and was unable to edit it, so I closed it so that I could add that the item was defective so that I would not be charged for the return postage, and the system will not allow the existing return to be re-opened nor will it allow a new return to be initiated, so I am stuck with the item.
any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Once you close a return claim in eBay you are finished. While you can use PayPal for a return up to 180 days or a credit card charge back the fact that you closed the return might be an issue.
I would use it as a paint cloth ...
