RE: Fake Tracking Info Scam
I honestly don't know how these sellers do it. If it's not one scam, it's another. I got screw by a seller when I purchased some pipes for my motorcycle. The seller provided fake tracking info. When I checked with Fedex, the ship to address was not mine, but the city was the same. When I disputed it through Ebay and Paypal, I lost the both disputes because the seller provided this fake tracking info. I finally got resolution through my personal bank, but it took months. Now I just purchased an item through Ebay again. The item was shipped to me through Walmart+. The seller provided fake tracking info for a USPS package that I never received. The item came damaged from Walmart, so if I dispute it, I will lose. The seller does not accept returns. What is Ebay doing to resolve this fake tracking info that is provide by sellers? There is no protection for buyers and no recourse to the fraudulent scammers.

"Fake" tracking is actually a real tracking number that corresponds to a real shipment, just not a shipment to the recipient of the tracking number.
The item came damaged from Walmart, so if I dispute it, I will lose.
File a "Not As Described" case with eBay within thirty days and ask eBay to "step in" if the seller does not cooperate. If the seller provides a prepaid return label through eBay, ship the item back.
In retrospect, was there anything about your seller's feedback that might have been a warning of potential problems? How long has the seller been selling? How much positive feedback has the seller received for selling similar items? Any large gaps in the seller's selling history, or drastic changes in the character of the items sold?
