Rash of Bidders but no payment
I have been with ebay for 20 years...
Recently I have been getting a rash of Bidders....and No payment. Ebay use to penalize buyer who did not pay. I guess not
I have sent reminders, no response ....
I wind up canceling them, and blocking them...
Also, my sales have dropped....way down...
I hear lower price from several forum replies.....the prices are low.
most annoying, just venting!

·1 year agoThe sanctions for a cancellation for non-payment (after 4 calendar days from the transaction or the most recent invoice sent) are the same as they were under the old Unpaid Item Dispute: a "strike" (though eBay no longer uses that term) that counts towards the Buyer Requirement a seller can set to block anyone with 2 or more strikes in the previous 12 months (or less), protection from bad feedback (impossible to leave after the strike, can be removed--if not automatic--if posted before), and it affects the buyer's general buying limits.

Mentor1 year agoMake sure you wait till the fifth day so you can cancel for non-payment and place a strike on the buyer's account.
You also may want to consider enabling the buyer auto pay option, so when they win the payment is made automatically.

Mentor1 year ago@snaggelpus You can require buyers to provide a payment method before they can bid or make an offer. No unpaid items this way.
As a fellow seller I know how frustrating non paying buyers can be.
When a buyer doesn't pay you can cancel the sale after 4 FULL DAYS so on the 5th day cancel as buyer hasn't paid. This gives the non-paying buyer a strike on their account and they also will not be able to leave feedback. Then you relist OR do a second chance offer. You can relist by selecting sell similar from the drop down menu next to the sold item, it was sold just not paid for.
If the buyer receives 2 or more strikes in 12 months then they are blocked from auctions or best offers for one year ( as long as the seller sets this up in account settings) and can only make immediate payment purchases, if they get too many strikes then eBay may remove the buyer from the site.
Do not send an invoice or it starts the clock over again for when you cancel as buyer hasn't paid. eBay sends payment reminders.

Have you set up your buyer requirements in account settings?
Click this link: https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements Then block buyers with 2 or more unpaid items in 12 months.
Then at the bottom of the screen look for buyer Payment Requirements and put a check next to>>
Require buyers to provide a payment method before they place a bid.
Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer.
These settings will cut down on your non paying buyer issues.
