Questional Ethics
Summary: joh_2495 expressed frustration over not receiving a product ordered from a seller and facing challenges in getting a refund after the return window closed. They described unresponsive behavior from the seller and sought advice from the community. momtoabeautifuldaughter and disneyshopper advised on opening a case or chargeback, and gosimus elaborated on the process of using PayPal or credit card chargebacks for an item not received. joh_2495 appreciated the guidance and noted their inexperience with such situations, valuing the lesson learned despite the minimal financial loss.
I am trying to get a refund on a product that was never received. It's not expensive, but I am insulted that I can order, pay immediately, never receive my order, and be ignored by the seller. The item was ordered in June, and the only message I received from the seller was a notification that the order was taking longer than expected. I contacted the seller,TWICE with no response. It was my after my third time reaching out that they bothered to respond, saying they could not find the order. I sent them a screenshot of the order, which included the order number and other pertinent details. I also pointed out that I never got notice of delivery and neither did they. Now when I look up the item under "Purchases" it has been removed. Seeing that I was told by them that my item would take "longer than expected", AND that seller didn't respond to me when I initially reached out to them and didn't bother responding until AFTER the return window had closed, I feel their actions (not delivering, not responding when first contacted, only responding AFTER the return window has closed). I am relatively new to ordering from EBay, but it seems to be very llittle options for buyers if they don't receive their order. First I was notified my package would be late, then ignored by Aphogee.trends until it was too late to get a return. Even with an inexpensive product, I imagine a seller cold make quite a profit if they receive payment, but never deliver the product. Thank goodness that every other seller that I have used, and I have used several, has been responsive and efficient. The last contact that I got from the page was to tell me to 'calm down' after sending proof of payment AND the order number. This was 2 weeks ago. They have gone silent and have been completely non-responsive. I would like to give a big THANKS to all the sellers with scruples and who are communicative. I would also advise any buyer to proceed with caution if considering a purchase from this particular seller

< until AFTER the return window had closed >
I won't chastise you for allowing the seller to string you along until that happened, I assume you feel bad enough about it already and will never do it again.
How did you pay? If you paid with PayPal, log in and open a dispute, PP gives you 180 days for INR. https://www.paypal.com/us/cshelp/article/how-do-i-open-a-dispute-with-a-seller-help160
If you paid by direct credit card, then you'll have to call the customer service number on the back of that card and tell them you need to do a chargeback. Use that word. The agent you first reach will transfer you to the proper desk, but fast before she gets away, ask for the direct number to that department. Then, if your call gets dropped, you can call directly to them and not have to be subjected to that infuriating decision tree at the beginning.
edited to add ~ Do not talk about "return" – you don't have anything to return. Your issue is Item Not Received.

OP2 weeks agoI will admit that I am new to this and a bit naive, that is why I really appreciate people who are experienced answering my questions. It's never been my nature to be deceitful and have a tendency to expect others to be the same. The dollar amount was minimal, but the lesson is valuable. Thanks!

Mentor2 weeks agoSince the estimated delivery date has past by more than 30 days, ebay cannot help you. If you paid with a credit card, contact the credit card issuer regarding a chargeback for an item not received. Most credit card issuers will accept a chargeback within 180 days of the purchase.

Mentor2 weeks agoIn the future look at the estimated delivery date when you order. You have 30 days after that last estimated delivery date to open an INR case. Once you go past that 30 days then your money back guarantee has expired.
Also you cannot post seller names/user ID's
